Tobias Goldschmidt will become the new Minister of the Environment at the Ministry of “Energiewende”, Agriculture, Environment, Nature and Digitalisation in July 2022. Previously, he had been State Secretary at the Ministry for “Energiewende”, Agriculture, Environment, Nature and Digitalisation since summer 2017.
He is responsible for the topics of digitalisation, technical environmental protection, reactor safety and energy transition. Previously, he was Head of the Coordination Unit and Head of the Energy Policy Unit at the same ministry.
Goldschmidt studied political science at the Free University of Berlin and at Georgetown University in Washington DC. Before joining the Kiel Ministry, he worked as a communications consultant in the public affairs sector in Berlin. He lives with his wife and three children in Schönkirchen in the district of Plön.
