Welkoam Iip Lunn

Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear WFO Moats,
worldwide, offshore wind power is gaining importance in meeting global challenges. In Germany, there has been a comparative lull in recent years. This is now set to change. In addition to the expansion targets until 2030, the German government has for the first time set a longer-term target of 40 gigawatts for offshore wind by 2040 and is introducing the new Wind Energy at Sea Act – what does this mean for offshore wind energy in Germany?
According to the National Hydrogen Strategy, electrolysis capacities of ten gigawatts are to be built by 2040. Offshore wind energy is also to play an important role here. Denmark and the Netherlands are already developing plans that use synergetic solutions of offshore wind and green hydrogen to drive a new generation of renewables from the sea.
So it remains exciting to see how regulators, shipowners, crews and captains will sail on the right course. Now in its 10th edition, the Offshore Wind Business Forum is addressing these challenges with top-class speakers and welcomes you again in 2021. We are well positioned for the requirements in the context of COVID-19 with hybrid formats, among others.
At the Business Forum, you can network with Steerswomen and men, pilots and lateral thinkers in the energy industry.
Heligoland welcomes you again in 2021 – Welkoam Iip Lunn!
Deep-sea fresh greetings,
Jörg Singer, Mayor & Chief Ocean Officer
