David Anderson
Since 1st July 2020 David has been appointed SVP Renewables Growth, Gas & Low Carbon Energy.
David Anderson joined BP in September 2006. Born and educated in New Zealand he moved to the UK in 1990.
David worked for Imperial Chemicals Industries (ICI PLC) for three years as a Risk and Insurance Manager for Europe, he was then transferred to ICI Australia as Risk and Insurance Manager. After two years in the position David was transferred back to ICI PLC where he was to become Risk and Insurance Manager for 5 years.
David then joined Shell International as Deputy Risk and Insurance Manager for the Group. After 3 years in the role David then moved to the Gas and Power business as Deputy Director and Finance Manager for the Middle East and Africa and Vice President Gas and Power with responsibilities for Oman.
In these roles David was responsible for all finance matters for the region including planning. He led the negotiations for Qalhat LNG and was responsible for the governance of Oman LNG.
He then joined BP in September 2006 and joined Treasury as Vice President of Insurance Risk Solutions which included the management of the Group’s insurance companies.
In January 2014 he was appointed CFO for Alternative Energy. In addition to David’s CFO responsibilities he led the restructuring activity of Alternative Energy which included several negotiations that supported the growth of the business
